Pawtoberfest is a dog-centric section within Huffhines Harvest Fest. Bring your pup and join us for a fun-filled day with pet costume contests, puppy yoga, pumpkin patch, shopping, live music, craft beer, wine, fall treats, and more!

Get in a 45-minute full body stretch while enjoying the joy of PUPPIES! The best part? All the puppies are adoptable rescues from Dallas RRR (Rescue, Rehab, Reform)! Interested in fostering? Visit their website for more information!
11:30 AM - PET COSTUME CONTEST
Hosted by Big Al Mack from the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show! With prizes donated from Pappy’s Pet Lodge!

Limited walk-up spots available
(first come, first served) – $10/pet
Award ribbons & prizes are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place across two categories:
• Small-Medium breeds: Up to 40 lbs
• Large-XL breeds: Over 40 lbs
Walk-ups not guaranteed and must be registered at least 30 minutes before the contest. Pets must be on-leash with an adult handler.

2025 Scheduled Activities
All Day – Great Tennis Ball Hunt
No registration needed. Open to all! The hunt runs until all balls are turned in.
You and your pup will channel your inner “search hound” to find hidden labeled tennis balls around the festival site. Return the ball to our Pawtoberfest information booth for a prize! Limit 1 ball per group.
Thank you to Raising Cane’s for providing tennis balls for the hunt! Look for black tennis balls with a white logo.

Start your morning with a full body stretch with the added joy of PUPPIES! These 45-minute sessions are led by fabulous instructors from Sayta Yoga Dallas. The best part? All puppies are adoptable rescues from Dallas RRR (Rescue, Rehab, Reform)!

FREE – No registration needed. Open to all!
Ever wondered if agility would be a good fit for your active dog? Join us for this beginner-friendly session designed to introduce you and your canine companion to the exciting world of dog agility. An experienced instructor will lead a live demonstration with one of their highly-trained pups followed with a Q&A session.
Stick around afterwards to try it yourself and get hands-on time with the agility equipment.

2:30 P.M. – Tales for Tails
Location: City of Richardson Library booth (R.O.V.E.R. van) – P4 on map
FREE – Slots are first-come first-served. Check-in begins 15min before the program at the Library’s booth. Open for ages 12 and under. Ages 13+ can visit with the dogs during the last 15min of the program at 3:15-3:30pm
The popular Richardson Public Library program is coming to Pawtoberfest! Children 12 and under can practice their reading skills by reading to the adorable therapy dogs from Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs.
